We are a 3rd generation family run establishment who have been operating within the Birmingham area for over 30 years. We run three houses each with its story to tell, and we pride ourselves on the traditional and homely environments we can provide to you.
We put the family at the very heart of what we do and pride ourselves on our low staff turnover and the stability this brings to our 59 residents.
Many of our staff have been here for a long time and some since the very beginning and often multiple generations of the same family are employed. Our staff are trained to the highest standards most of our staff are trained to NVQ levels 3 & 4, with NVQ level 2 being the minimum level we would allow.
The owners visit the site daily and enjoy a positive relationship with staff, clients, and relatives.
Person-Centred Care
At Stennard’s leisure, every person upon arrival is given a personal named keyworker, this encourages the easier development of stronger positive relationships. Managers will discuss with the individuals and their families about individual preferences and care needs. From this, an individual care plan is developed tailored to cater to the specific needs of the individual.
Working together we also generate a ‘day in the life document’, which provides a brief life history, likes, and dislikes. This helps the residents and staff to get to know each other, their personal care needs, routine, and interests. This puts the person at the center of the care they receive here and helps to form friendships with other residents.

Home Cooked Food
At Stennard’s we appreciate the positive effect of traditional home-cooked food to anyone, all of our food is prepared and cooked within the home. There’s plenty of variety available on our clear large print menus on display boards. Friends and relatives are welcome on occasion to arrange to come along and join us for lunch.
Specialist Dementia Care
Dementia is something to be lived with rather than a barrier with every case being very individual. We personalise every activity so that anyone with dementia can still participate and enjoy the activities with everyone.
Fees
Private paying residents are welcome at Stennard’s. However, some residents are entitled to have their fees paid in part or full by their appropriate Social Services Department.
We currently have contracts with Birmingham City Council and Solihull Council and we can spot contract to any council.
Activities
As the name would suggest Leisure is our forte. All of our homes have an activity co-ordinator who provides new and stimulating daily activities along with many old favourites.
There are always a range of activities to enjoy within our houses:
The home arranges a weekly day centre whereby all of the people living across the three homes will meet together. This allows residents from all of our homes to socialise with each facilitating the sense of community and family. We also encourage families to take clients out as much as possible to maintain their links with family and community.

Memory Lane activities are aimed to stimulate long and short term memories, through Memory boxes, Music, and flash cards
